Man sentenced following rape in Fife

 

A 26-year-old man has been sentenced to seven years in prison after being convicted of the rape of a woman in Limekilns, Fife.

Joel Macphee was also placed on the sex offenders register and given a 99-year non-harassment order when he appeared at the High Court in Edinburgh on Tuesday, 24 March, 2026.

He was found guilty last month. The attack happened in September 2024.

Detective Constable Douglas Potter said: "Macphee is a sexual predator who will now face the consequences of his despicable actions.

"Police Scotland is committed to fully investigating all reports of sexual crime.

"We have specially trained officers to support victims and work with partner agencies to ensure those responsible are brought to justice."
