Man arrested and charged in connection with attempted murder in Wardlaw Street, Edinburgh

A 39-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder in Wardlaw Street, Edinburgh on Tuesday, 24 March, 2026.

Officers were called to a property around 2.40pm and a 50-year-old man was taken to hospital for treatment. Hospital staff describe his condition as serious but not critical.

The 39-year-old man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Wednesday, 25 March, 2026.

Detective Inspector Alan Sharp said: "Our enquiries remain ongoing and we would urge any witnesses or anyone with information that may assist our investigation to come forward."
