Appeal after wilful fire in Inverness

Detectives are appealing for information after a wilful fire in Inverness.

Around 1am on Tuesday, 3 March, 2026 we were called to a property at Bught Drive after a report of a fire.

It was extingushed by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no reports of any injuries.

The fire is being treated as wilful and enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Sergeant Laura MacKay said: "Thankfully no one was injured during this incident however the outcome could have been much worse.

"We are appealing to members of the public who may have seen anything suspicious around 1am in the Bught Drive area to get in touch.

"Anyone with private CCTV or dash cam footage should check to see if they have captured anything that could be useful in our investigation and call 101 quoting reference 0146 of 3 March."
