Appeal for information following fatal collision on Shetland
Road policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal collision on Shetland.
Around 10pm on Saturday, 21 March, 2026, police were called to a crash involving a black Ford Ranger and a cyclist on the B9074, Trondra.
Emergency services attended and a 51-year-old male cyclist was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Next of kin have been made aware.
The occupants of the Ford were not injured.
The road will remain closed on Sunday, 22 March, as enquiries are carried out.
Sergeant Ewan Calder said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died and we’ll continue to offer them support.
“I’m appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have any information which could assist our investigation to come forward.”
