Appeal following wilful vehicle fire in Bonhill, Alexandria

Detectives are appealing for information after a van was deliberately set alight in Bonhill, Alexandria.

Around 1.25am on Tuesday, 24 March, 2026, officers were called to a report of a yellow Renault Trafic panel van on fire outside a property on Braehead. The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

Enquiries are ongoing.

Detective Constable Stuart Buchanan said: "This fire was set deliberately and we are carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances.

"I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, or who may have information which could assist with our enquiries, to get in touch.

"Anyone with private CCTV, dash-cam or doorbell footage from the area is asked to review it and pass on anything of significance."
