Appeal following theft of oil from properties in Oban
Officers are appealing for information following the theft of oil from properties in Oban.
Between Tuesday, 10 February, 2026 and Friday, 13 March, 2026, we received a report of around 500 litres of oil taken from the fuel tank at a property in Ganavan.
Between Tuesday, 27 January, 2026 and Saturday, 7 March, 2026, around 500 litres of oil was also reported stolen from a property in Kilmore.
Enquiries are ongoing and officers are appealing for anyone with any information to get in touch.
Constable Max Maclean said: “I would ask anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area between these dates or who has any other information which could assist to contact us.
“I would also ask anyone with a fuel tank to check it regularly and for home and property owners to consider installing safety measures including suitable lighting, locks, signage or even CCTV.”
