Appeal following serious assault in Rutherglen

Detectives are appealing for information following a serious assault in Rutherglen.

Officers were called to a report of a disturbance in the Ross Place area around 4pm on Saturday, 28 March.

A 44-year-old man was traced and arrested in connection with causing a disturbance.

Further enquiries revealed that the man had been assaulted. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Detective Constable Gerry Hattie, Lanarkshire CID, said: “Our enquiries to establish the full circumstances remain ongoing, and I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the assault to contact us.

“Similarly, any local residents with private CCTV or doorbell footage and drivers with dash-cam should also get in touch as you may have captured something of significance.”
