Appeal following fatal crash on A199 Haddington Road, Tranent
Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a fatal crash in Tranent.
Around 12.05pm on Tuesday, 10 March, 2026, we received a report of a crash on the A199 Haddington Road, involving a white Vauxhall Vivaro and a blue Citroen C3 Aircross, which was parked.
Emergency services attended and the 55-year-old male driver of the Vauxhall was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, where he later died.
No-one else was injured.
The road was closed to allow for crash investigation and vehicle recovery and was fully re-opened around 3.30pm.
Sergeant Jamie Humpage said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died in this crash.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish exactly what happened and I’d appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash and may have witnessed it or anyone with dash-cam footage which could assist, to come forward.”
