Appeal following disturbance and assaults in Ayr

Officers are appealing for information following a disturbance in the High Street area of Ayr.

The incident happened around 2.45am on Saturday, 7 March, when four men were assaulted.

Two of them, aged 32 and 39, were taken hospital for treatment for serious injuries. The others, aged 24 and 53, sustained minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

Detective Constable Kevin Simpson “Our investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are asking anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.

“Enquiries so far have established that a group of three men and woman were in the area at the time and they left in the direction of Mill Wynd, on to Blackfriars Walk, over Turners Brig and then towards John Street. We are keen to speak to them as we believe they can assist officers.
