Two men arrested and charged following Turriff and New Pitsligo incidents
Two men, aged 28 and 30, have been arrested and charged following a number of break-ins, theft and wilful fireraising incidents which took place at commercial premises in the Turriff and New Pitsligo areas.
The incidents took place between Sunday, 11 January and Friday, 30 January, 2026.
Both men are due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Monday, 2 February, 2026.
Detective Sergeant Shonagh MacGregor of the Fraserburgh CID said "Preventing, reducing and tackling rural crime is a priority for us. We would like to thank the local communities of Turriff and New Pitsligo for their assistance during our investigation"
"Our enquiries remain ongoing and anyone with information on this type of crime should contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 0558 of 26 January 2026. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
Officers continue to encourage preventative steps being taken to discourage rural crime. We advise multiple levels of security, following principles of Deter, Delay and Detect.
Deter - Forensic marking, vehicle decals, security lighting.
Delay - Secure farm gates, limit access, robust locks.
Detect - Trackers, CCTV, alarms.
Report suspicious, or out of the ordinary activity.
