Man arrested after electric off-road bike seized in Drumchapel

A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a number of road traffic offences and the possession of an offensive weapon following the seizure of an electric off-road bike in Drumchapel.

The man was stopped in the Blairdardie area of Glasgow on Thursday, 18 September, 2025, following reports of anti-social use of the bike from the local community.

He will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Constable Leishman said: “The illegal use of these bikes on public roads are not just anti-social but extremely dangerous.

“Our job is to reduce that risk and enforce Road Traffic Legislation. Anyone using these bikes in a public place, should be aware: you will be stopped, you will be charged and the bikes will be seized.

“Anyone with information or concerns about the anti-social use of electric off-road bikes is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be passed anonymously.”
