Appeal following break-ins and thefts in Annandale

 

Detectives are appealing for information following reports of break-ins and thefts from rural properties in Annandale.

On Wednesday, 3 September, 2025 we received a report of a break-in to a property and the theft of a small amount of cash from a vehicle, a break-in to a car and the theft of a quad bike at a premises and the attempted theft of a van from a property all in the Waterbeck area.

A report was also received of the attempted theft of a car at an industrial estate on Silverlaw, Annan, and of a suspicious vehicle in Canonbie.

A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection and was released pending further investigation.

Enquiries remain ongoing.

Detective Inspector Scott Wilson said: “Thefts like this can severely impact rural communities.

“Our investigation remains ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed anything to contact us.

"We also ask anyone with dash-cam footage that could assist our enquiries to come forward.
