Man charged following death of woman, Byron Street, Dundee

A 26-year-old man arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Dundee has been charged.

Around 7.25am on Friday, 31 October, 2025, we received a report of a fire at a property in the Byron Street area.

Emergency services attended, the fire was extinguished and a 37-year-old woman who was within the property was later pronounced dead. 

Following a post-mortem examination, the woman’s death is being treated as murder and her family is being supported by specially trained officers.

The man is due to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court on Monday, 3 November, 2025.
