Woman arrested after hazardous liquid thrown at woman in Glasgow

A 51-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in connection with an assault in Glasgow city centre. 

Around 6.20pm on Sunday, 9 November, 2025 , we received a report of a harmful substance being thrown at a woman on Buchanan Street, Glasgow. 

Emergency services attended, and the 46-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment. 

The 51-year-old woman is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 10 November, 2025.

Chief Inspector Stephen McManus said: “We understand this was a worrying incident and thank the public for their assistance. 

“Officers will be in the area and anyone with any concerns can approach them.”
