Man sentenced for sexual offences against children in Fife
A man has been sentenced to twelve years in prison for sexual offending against children.
Darren Paton, 44 was sentenced at the High Court in Edinburgh on Monday, 12 May, 2025 after he was found guilty at the same court on Friday, 11 April, 2025.
The offences happened in Fife between 2013 and 2023 and involved two children.
Detective Constable Steven Grant of the Child Abuse Investigation Unit said: “We acknowledge the sentencing of Paton, who will now face the consequences of actions.
“We remain committed to thoroughly investigating those responsible for these types of crimes and bringing them to justice.
“Any form of child sexual abuse is a serious criminal offence and is a priority for Police Scotland. We encourage anyone with concerns about a child at risk of abuse, or a potential victim, to contact police immediately.”
