Appeal after wilful vehicle fire in Lanarkshire

Detectives are appealing for information after a vehicle was set on fire in Coatbridge.

Around 3.40am on Thursday, 6 May, we received a report of a car on fire on Sunnyside Road.

Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.

There were no injuries and the fire is being treated as wilful.

Detective Constable Scott Brown from Lanarkshire CID said: "We are appealing to anyone that may have saw anything suspicious that night to get in touch.

"Anyone with doorbell or dash-cam footage should check to see if they have captured anything.
