Another man arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation into violent incidents in the East and West of the country

A further arrest has been made in connection with the investigation into violent incidents in the East and West of the country.

This arrest brings the total related to Operation Portaledge so far to 48.

A 51-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with attempting to pervert the course of justice following a wilful fireraising in Bellshill, Glasgow, on 23 May, 2025.

He will appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court at a later date.
