Appeal following serious crash in Dundee

Road Policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash in Dundee.

The incident happened around 12.35am on Friday, 11 July, 2025, on Blackness Road at the junction with Elliot Road and involved an electric motorcycle and a black Volkswagen Polo.

The rider of the motorcycle, a 17-year-old male, was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment to serious injuries.

The 17-year-old male pillion passenger of the motorcycle and the occupants of the Volkswagen were uninjured.

The passenger of the motorcycle was later arrested in connection with a matter unrelated to the crash.

The road was closed for around six hours to allow enquiries to be carried out and reopened around 6.25am.

Sergeant David Farr said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to please contact us.

“In addition, anyone who was driving in the area and has dash-cam footage which may assist is asked to get in touch.”
