Appeal following fatal crash on A706 near Linlithgow
Road Policing officers are appealing for information after a fatal crash near Linlithgow.
The incident happened around 6.55pm on Friday, 5 December, 2025, on the A706 near Carriber Mill, and involved a red Honda Civic and a silver Volkswagen T-Roc.
Emergency services attended, and an 87-year-old woman, a passenger in the Volkswagen, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 21-year-old man, the driver of the Honda, the 64-year-old male driver of the Volkswagen and a 63-year-old woman, a passenger in the Volkswagen, were all taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The road was closed for eight hours to allow investigations to take place and was re-opened around 2am on Saturday, 6 December.
Sergeant Barry Sommerville said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of the woman who died at this extremely difficult time, and our enquiries into the crash are ongoing.
“I am appealing to anyone who was driving in the area at the time and who may have seen what happened to contact officers.
“We are also keen to speak to the driver of a Range Rover who was driving along the road around the time of the crash.
“I’d also ask that anyone with dash-cam footage review this and see if it has captured anything of significance that could assist with our investigation.”
