Woman jailed for sexual offences and stalking

A 33-year-old woman has been given a custodial sentence for sexual offences and stalking.

Adele Rennie was sentenced at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Friday, 13 September, after being convicted at the same court on Tuesday, 30 July, 2024.

The offences took place in the Ayrshire and North Lanarkshire areas in 2023.

Detective Inspector Stephen McGrath, of Kilmarnock CID, said: "Rennie’s actions involved a calculated attempt to deceive and manipulate her victim using a false identity online. This sentencing demonstrates that there is no hiding place and such offences will not go unchecked.

“The victim in this case showed great strength in coming forward, helping prevent further harm.

“We encourage anyone concerned about online behaviour to report it to police, knowing their concerns will be taken seriously.”
