Driver arrested and charged following fatal crash in Bearsden

A 61-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a fatal crash on Drymen Road in Bearsden.

The incident happened around 8.10am on Tuesday, 19 March, 2024, at the junction with Manse Road and involved a lorry and a cyclist. The cyclist, a 56-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man, the HGV driver, has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences and will appear in court at a later date.
