Appeal following serious crash on A721 near Carstairs

Road policing officers are appealing for information following a serious crash on the A721 between Carstairs and the Harelaw Roundabout.

The incident happened around 1.30pm on Thursday, 3 October, and involved a red Audi A3 and a grey Audi A3.

Emergency services attended and the driver of the red Audi, a 72-year-old woman, was taken to the Wishaw General Hospital where her condition is described as serious but stable.

The driver of the grey Audi, a 54-year-old man, was also taken to hospital for treatment.

The road was closed and re-opened around 5.30pm.

Sergeant Gemma Blackadder said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone witnessed the crash to please get in touch.

“I would also urge anyone with dash-cam footage that could help with our investigation to contact us.”
