Man charged in connection with road traffic offence following A9 fatal collision

An 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with a road traffic offence following a fatal crash on the A9 near Aviemore.

The crash, involving a blue Skoda Octavia and a white Toyota Hilux pick-up, happened around 1.45pm on Tuesday, 5 March, 2024 near Lynwilg.

The driver of the Skoda, 60-year-old Roy Bannerman, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow with serious injuries, where he later died on Friday, 8 March, 2024.

The 18-year-old man had previously been arrested and released pending further enquiries.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
