Appeal for information following wilful car fire in Greenock

Detectives are appealing for information following a wilful car fire in Greenock.

The incident happened around 10.20am on Thursday, 7 November, 2024 on Rose Street.

The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. There were no reported injuries.

Detective Constable Laura Sokolov said: “Enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone who witnessed the fire to contact us.

“We also ask anyone with private CCTV or dashcam footage of the area at the time to come forward.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 0955 of 7 November, 2024. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.
