Woman has died following crash on Main Street, Baillieston, in Glasgow

The rider of a mobility scooter involved in a crash on Main Street in the Baillieston area of Glasgow has died.

The incident happened between Church Street and Edinburgh Road around 2pm on Friday, 28 June, and involved the mobility scooter and a white Ford Fiesta.

Emergency services attended and the rider, a 58-year-old woman, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where she died on Sunday, 30 June, 2024.

Her family has asked for privacy.

The car driver, a 77-year-old man, was also taken to hospital for treatment for minor injuries.

Road Policing Sergeant Chris Hoggans said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who has died at what is a very difficult time for them.

“Our enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances and anyone who has not already spoken to officers and can help with our investigation is asked to get in touch.”
