Man arrested and charged following serious sexual assault in Stranraer

An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the serious sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl in Stranraer.

The incident was initially reported as having occurred at Agnew Park. Following extensive enquiries, it has been established that the incident is believed to have happened within a property in the east end of Stranraer around 2am on Sunday, 14 July, 2024.

He is due to appear at Stranraer Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 16 July.
