Man arrested and charged following recovery of drugs worth around £286,000

A man has been arrested and charged after drugs with an estimated street value of around £286,000 were recovered along with £10,000 in cash.

Around 9.15pm on Friday, 26 April, acting on intelligence, officers stopped a vehicle on the M73 near Ballieston and recovered cannabis and a quantity of cash.

A drugs warrant was then executed at a property on Langlands Place in Cumbernauld around 1.45am on Saturday, 27 April, and a further quantity of cannabis was recovered.

The 30-year-old man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, 29 April, 2024.

Sergeant Barry Jones said: “Drugs cause misery in our communities and taking drugs off the street is a priority for Police Scotland.
