Chief Financial Officer - James Gray
James is a Chartered Public Finance Accountant (CPFA) who has worked in both the public and private sectors during his career to date.
James was seconded from the accountancy firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in June 2016 to fill the interim Chief Financial Officer role, having previously undertaken a number of specialist secondment roles in the public sector during his 10 years with PwC, including the Scottish Funding Council, the National Waiting Times Centre and Registers of Scotland. James was appointed the permanent Chief Financial Officer of Police Scotland in July 2017
He was previously a Chief Financial Officer at Shetland Islands Council, spending a total of 3 years in Shetland. James was widely praised for transforming the financial management and financial performance of the Council, both at a local and national level, twice coming runner up in the CIPFA Scotland Public Finance Professional of the Year Award.
