Assistant Chief Constable - Criminal Justice

Assistant Chief Constable Kenny MacDonald is the executive lead for Criminal Justice.
ACC MacDonald’s portfolio consists of the following business areas:

  • Criminal Justice Services Division
  • Criminal Justice Reform
  • Digitally Enabled Sharing Capability
  • Digitally Enabled Policing Programme
  • Core Operational Solutions (COS)
  • Body Worn Video
  • Mobile Working
  • Local Policing Business Support

He is also the Senior Responsible Officer for CHS/PNC.

ACC MacDonald joined Strathclyde Police in 1994 and just after the inception of Police Scotland in 2013, was a Support Superintendent in Edinburgh.

He was promoted in 2015 and served as Divisional Commander for Lanarkshire before taking on the same role for Edinburgh City. As Chief Superintendent, he went on to be deputy Senior Responsible Officer for the Digitally Enabled Policing Programme.

He was appointed ACC in 2019, first as Local Policing East, which at that time also included Criminal Justice Services Division, before taking on his new remit in 2020.
