Assistant Chief Constable Judi Heaton is the executive lead for Major Crime, Public Protection and Local Crime.

ACC Heaton’s portfolio consists of the following business areas:

  • Public Protection
    • Child and Adult Protection
    • Rape and Serious Sexual Crime
    • Domestic Abuse
    • Human Trafficking
    • Offender Management
  • Local Crime including Wildlife crime
  • Rights and Justice Legislative Programme
  • Biometrics
  • NPCC Lead – HOLMES

She is the Senior Responsible Officer for the Age of Criminal Responsibility Act and Information Asset Owner for Interim Vulnerable Persons Database.

ACC Heaton began her career with Humberside Police in 1991 and went on to work for Cheshire Constabulary before returning to Humberside.

She was a Chief Superintendent at Humberside Police for seven years and her roles included Chief of Staff, Head of Crime, Head of Professional Standards and Divisional Commander.

She joined Police Scotland in 2020 as ACC and is the National Police Chiefs Council Portfolio Lead for the major enquiry computer system called HOLMES.
