Our Performance

Police Scotland's focus is on keeping people safe. We do this by working in partnership to tackle policing priorities agreed locally for all our communities and at national level.

The Performance Framework ensures Police Scotland’s performance approach is outcome focused and sufficiently flexible to address new and emerging issues. Alongside detail of operational activity, business benefits of on-going service transformational projects are reported. In addition, detailed corporate services indicators are included in the Framework.

The Performance Framework aligns with the Annual Plan and describes objectives for Police Scotland’s policing priorities, change program and corporate support to provide a more holistic approach to policing delivery and improvement.

The use of outcomes also provides a consistent focus for both national and local activity. Local policing is at the heart of our service. Police Scotland has published local policing plans for all multi-member wards. Management information at Divisional and Council area level is published below on a quarterly basis.

Our outcomes-focused planning and performance approach drives alignment (a golden thread) across all parts of Police Scotland in terms of strategic planning, operational delivery and performance reporting. Furthermore, the link to Scottish Government’s national outcomes extends this alignment to a national level.
