Area Commander Chief Inspector Alan Bowater is the Area Commander for Glasgow South West and is based at Helen Street Police Station. He is responsible for the daily management of policing, and making sure outcomes within the Local Policing Plan are delivered. He is supported by Community Inspector Kevin Lammie and Support Sergeant Crawford Inglis Glasgow South West Govan covers the areas of Greater Govan, Ibrox, Cessnock, Kinning Park, Tradeston and Bellahouston. The area has a large range of housing, with a mixture of council and privately owned properties. It is also known for its industry, with one of the largest ship building companies on the River Clyde. It is home to Ibrox Stadium, and the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, the largest hospital in Scotland. Cardonald covers the areas of Corkerhill, Mosspark, Crookston, Cardonald, Hillington and Penilee.
