Chief Inspector Vicky Little is the Area Commander for Glasgow North. She is responsible for the daily management of policing, and making sure outcomes within the Local Policing Plan are delivered.
She is supported by Inspector Craig Walker, who has responsibility for the Local Problem Solving teams.
Both Vicky and Craig are based at Maryhill Police Station.
Maryhill and Kelvin covers the areas of Wyndford, Kelvindale, Gilshochill, Cadder, Summerston and Acre. Housing ranges from traditional sandstone tenements to large housing association estates. The Forth and Clyde Canal runs through the area. It has a mixed population including a large number of students.
Canal covers the areas of East Keppoch, Parkhouse, Milton, Ruchill, Lambhill, Possil, Firhill and North Kelvin. It contains Ruchill Park which has a panoramic view of Glasgow and its surroundings. Once home to the Saracen Foundry, an important manufacturer of ornamental ironwork, it is now largely residential with mixed social and private housing.
Springburn covers the areas of Springburn, Royston, Germiston, Sighthill, South Balornock, North Balornock and Stobhill Hospital.
