Woman named following fatal collision near Kelso

Police in the Scottish Borders can now confirm the identity of a woman who died following a road collision on the A6089 Kelso to Gordon road, just outside Kelso.

She was 95-year-old Jessie Cunningham from Kelso.

Jessie was a passenger within a Ford Fiesta that was involved in a collision with a Seat Ibiza, which also collided with a Vauxhall Corsa on Monday 2nd July.

She sustained serious injuries and was taken to Borders General Hospital where she sadly passed away.

Inquiries into the full circumstances of this incident are continuing and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Seregant Neil Inglis from the Road Policing Unit in Galashiels said: "Our thoughts and sympathies are with Jessie Cunningham's family and friends and we are continuing with our investigation to establish exactly what happened during this collision.

"Anyone who has information, but who has not yet contacted police, is urged to contact police immediately."

Those with information is can contact the Road Policing Unit in Galashiels via 101, quoting incident number 4423 of the 2nd of July.
