Weekly Roundup - 12th January

Published 12 January 2018

Hello, and welcome to another edition of Weekly Roundup, bringing you the best policing news from the past week.

A branch of Costa Coffee in Glenrothes was the site of a new public engagement initiative, where members of the public can sit down with officers for an informal chat over a jar of java. Sandy Gourlay, Costa’s Charity and Community Manager, said, “Costa strives to offer a warm and welcoming environment and is pleased that our local team in Glenrothes is able to provide space within the store to host local Community Officers."

It's been another good week in terms of arrests. There was another major drugs seizure in the north, with a £25k cocaine seizure in Inverness, and three were charged with drugs offences after warrant execution in Kirkcaldy.

Elsewhere, a man was charged after a serious assault in Edinburgh, three men were charged in connection with the death of a man in Dundee, a 33-year-old individual was arrested in connection with a robbery in Dumfries, and a number of youths were charged with anti-social behaviour following a house party in Inverurie.
