Deaths of man and woman, Cornhill Terrace, Aberdeen - Update

Following the deaths of a man and a woman at Cornhill Terrace in Aberdeen police can confirm that the woman has been identified as Karen Flett, 57, of 51 Cornhill Terrace.

Formal identification of the man is still to take place but it is understood he is William Flett, 56, from the same address.

Police were called to a property at the Cornhill Terrace area of Aberdeen where the two had lived at around 10.25pm on Wednesday, July 5. 

Detective Inspector Allen Shaw said: "I can confirm that both deceased have died as a result of injuries which are consistent with the circumstances in which they were found.  Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what occurred at the property but at this stage, police are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident.

"While we believe this to be a contained incident we are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed anything unusual at the property yesterday, Wednesday, 5 July or in the days running up to the 5th to contact police on 101."
