Warrants operation in Northfield, Aberdeen

Officers in Northfield in Aberdeen carried out a warrants operation on Monday 4 December 2017 and as a result five people were taken into custody.

From 7.00am until 10.00pm a team of eight officers attended 31 addresses in the Northfield area as part of an operation to locate people wanted on apprehension and means warrants.

As a result four men aged (39 - 44) and one woman aged (28) were taken into custody. Three related to unpaid fines totalling £1,000 and two were on apprehension warrants for failing to appear at court. All five were expected to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Tuesday 5 December 2017.

In addition to this, six citations for court appearances were served and two searches were carried out on individuals in relation to possible drugs offences.

PC Lyndsey Morris of the Northfield Community Policing team who led the initiative said: "I would like to thank the members of public who provided information regarding the apprehension of these individuals.  I would also like to reassure the local community that we will continue to focus efforts in tracing the remaining wanted persons with a view to ensuring the safety of the local area.
