Appeal after airgun fired in Stirling

Police in Stirling are appealing for information after air pellets were fired a house in the town this morning.

At around 6.20am a man approached a property on St Valery Drive and stood outside before pointing an air weapon at the building. A number of air pellets were discharged causing damage to a window. The man was challenged by a member of the public but the man fired further pellets at the house before walking out of the close towards Cultenhove Road.

The man is described as in his early to mid 30s, of medium build with short dark hair and was wearing glasses. He was wearing a dark North Face jacket and carried a case. He spoke with a local accent and slurred speech.

Inspector Jim Young said: "This is an extremely unusual incident and I'm keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen the man beforehand or afterwards. Fortunately no-one was injured and only very slight damage was caused but we are treating the matter very seriously and need to identify this man as quickly as possible."
