In December, Police Scotland will be hosting a condensed recruitment event for those from Argyll & West Dunbartonshire.
As part of Police Scotland’s ongoing recruitment campaign for Police Officers, we are hosting a condensed 3 day recruitment event on Tuesday 1 December, Wednesday 2 December and Thursday 3 December at the Recruitment Department, Jackton, Training Campus West, East Kilbride.
This event is a unique opportunity for applicants who reside within Argyll and West Dunbartonshire to undertake the main recruitment selection stages over a condensed 3 day period.
Candidates who have attended similar events in Inverness and Aberdeen have found it to be a very positive experience, and it really helps reduce travel time and costs with the added benefit of sharing the experience with other applicants.
The format of the selection event will be:
Day one - Tuesday 1 December 2015 - candidates will sit the national Standard Entry Test (SET) and if successful will then undertake the national fitness assessment in the afternoon.
Day two – Wednesday 2 December 2015 - candidates who pass day one will attend for a competency-based interview.
Day three - Thursday 3 December 2015 - candidates who pass day two will participate in the national Assessment Centre which consists of three group exercises and a further competency based interview.
Thereafter candidates who pass the full three day selection event will be provided with an appointment for a medical examination and full vetting checks will be undertaken. At this time, we will also request references. Subject to meeting the standard for all elements of the selection process candidates will be issued with a final offer of appointment.
Police Scotland has new recruit intakes every month and successful candidates from this condensed event could potentially start with Police Scotland as early as January or February 2016. Upon appointment new recruits will complete eleven weeks initial training at the Scottish Police College, Tulliallan in Fife.
Thereafter as new probationers you will be posted to a Local Policing Division where you will complete a two year probationary period before being confirmed in the rank of Constable.
