A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged serious assault of a 48-year-old man in Methil on Tuesday evening.

He is expected to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court today (Thursday 16th May, 2013).

Officers from the Fife Division of Police Scotland arrested the man following an investigation, which was helped by information from members of the public, who responded to an appeal issued yesterday.

Detective Sergeant Paul Dick, who led the inquiry, said: "I would like to thank the local community of Levenmouth for supplying the information that was crucial in tracing the person allegedly responsible for this assault."
