On Sunday 26th March 2017 we gained behind the scenes access to the Scotland vs Slovenia World Cup 2018 qualifier at Hampden Park in Glasgow and produced a feature film on how the day unfolded.
Two days prior we had attended an hour-long Operations Meeting in a conference room in the Main Stand at Hampden with Police Scotland, the SFA, and the Scottish Ambulance Service. Despite a lower than usual crowd expected for the Sunday evening kick-off, the usual preparations and details were made, with all angles covered to ensure people were kept safe and the match passed off without incident.
Upon arrival at Cathcart Police Office on match-day at 1600 hours, we were greeted by Sergeant Stuart Cassels of Operations Planning, our chaperone for the evening. In high spirits and well briefed, we made the short walk down Aitkenhead Road towards Hampden Park, where the police operation was already underway.
