Police Scotland operates with a range of partnership agreements that reflect undertakings, practices and approaches agreed with a range of partner organisations. These are formalised in written documents which are signed by all parties to the agreement.
The terminology used to refer to these agreements can vary depending on the nature of the agreement; however the following terms are most commonly recognised:
- Memorandum of Understanding (MOU);
- Information Sharing Protocol (ISP) or Joint Protocol; and
- Service Level Agreement (SLA).
