Assistant Chief Constable Wayne Mawson

ACC Mawson is responsible for local policing in the East of Scotland.

Prior to taking up that role in September 2016 he was the Assistant Chief Constable for local policing in the West, a role he was appointed to in April 2013.

Wayne joined the Metropolitan Police Service in 1988 and progressed through the ranks, holding a number of operational and partnership roles.  

In 2006, he was appointed Superintendent with responsibility for Police Operations and Partnership in Haringey Borough. 

In 2009, he transferred to Strathclyde Police on promotion to Chief Superintendent and was appointed Divisional Commander for Glasgow North East and East Dunbartonshire Division.
