We welcome the opportunities presented by the Community Empowerment Scotland Act which will be integral to the continued delivery of improved safety and wellbeing of communities.


Part 3: Participation Requests

This part of the Act aims to strengthen the voice of communities, through discussions or involvement in service development, delivery or challenge of decisions.

Whilst the Act is a formal process which is designed to improve outcomes for communities, Police Scotland would welcome discussions of any form to safeguard vital services and ensure that we work more closely together to help services evolve and progress to meet the need of Scotland’s diverse communities.

Part 5: Asset transfer

This part of the Act comes into force on 23rd January 2017.
